postheadericon High Priestess – Indivdual Tarot Cards – Major Arcana

Being a Major Arcana card with number 2, the High Priestess resides on the 13th Path on the Tree of Life, connecting two Sephiroth of the Middle Pillar, the central Tiferet with the upmost Keter. The corresponding planet is the Moon, and obviously we deal here with a Yin, that is, female energy card.

High Priestess: Major Arcana nr. 2

High priestess from the 'Pamela-A" Tarot

Within this Tarot Card the most active is the Temple of Concentration attained through Consecration. The High Priestess connects the most high aspects of the Father with the most elevated principles of the Son. If we are looking for all those attributes that are most spiritual within the feminine, we will be able to find them here. This Female side of each human being, was also called Anima by the famous psychologist Karl Gustav Jung. So if we want to relate all that is most pure of our Anima qualities with one of the Major Arcanas we will find them in this card. In the Ancient Egyptian Civilization, the personification of the Anima was called Isis, whereas in the Ancient Greece Artemis..

Further characteristics include:

  • Soul of the Light manifesting out of the Light
  • Symbol of Consecrated Intuition.
  • Symbol of Spiritual Perception
  • The Essence of the Universe before descending into the world of Forms and Shapes.
  • Bridge to Freedom.

The last association is easy to be understood given that Keter is a point of ultimate freedom which is to be reached starting from our Soul located in the Tiferet and walking on the path over the abyss represented by the High-Priestess. She is guiding us, Her light is lighting over the abyss. She is like Artemis, able to hunt with enchantment. She is a symbol of the second level of realization, with her secrets hidden in a Temple guarded by herself. The High Priestes Tarot card presented here is taken from the most famous deck – the Rider Waite Tarot deck.
